September 2009 Newsletter Dear Friends & Patients, As the cool weather approaches, we are thinking fall. 2010 is quickly approaching. How can that be? Wasn’t it just the Millennium! For those of you who haven’t heard, I had a nasty accident on July 30. I was going up onto the garage roof to clean the gutters and the ladder slid away from the garage and I fell onto the brick patio with the results of a broke right wrist and a compression facture of the lumbar vertebra. My wrist was surgically corrected a week later and I was issued a back brace for the compression fracture. I am currently undergoing physical therapy and should be back to new in a few months. My new motto is “pay someone to clean your gutters”. Spring had Dr. Todd traveling to Los Angeles to hone his skills on controlling snoring and sleep apnea. He has become quite an expert and is ready to help our patients with their snoring and sleep apnea problems. We all had a busy and fun filled summer. Nola and I took our 12yr old granddaughter, Simone on a trip to South Dakota to visit two National Parks there. It was fun to spend one on one time with her and to add to my goal of seeing all 58 National Parks. To that end, we are going to Hawaii in the fall to see two more for a total of 26. Dr Todd and his family spent two weeks in Minocqua, WI enjoying the water skiing and tubing as well as catching a few fish. It looks like Nick and Adrienne may be hooked on fishing to follow in grandpa’s footsteps. Sheila has both her sons in college now and her daughter has started high school. Can an empty nest be far behind? Rhonda’s daughter, Madyson started dancing this year and is already rated one of the best dancers in her district. She is now taking private lessons to further develop her skills. Nicole is with us two mornings a week. The rest of the time is spent with her daughter Olivia who turned two in June. Wasn’t Nicole just pregnant? Ann, our other hygienist, recently became engaged and is busy planning her wedding which will take place next summer. She has also adopted two Chihuahuas whose names are Pancho and Chanel, Ask her about them—she loves to talk about them. In our desire to be a progressive and state of the art dental office, we recently installed 30” computer monitors in the treatment rooms so that you, the patient, can better see what we are talking about and understand why we are recommending our treatment.
